Head of Design and Technology Highly Regarded Croydon Secondary School (Starting January 2025)
We are a leading education recruitment consultancy working with a highly regarded secondary school in Croydon South London. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Design and Technology to lead their thriving department from January2025 (fulltime permanent position).

Design and Technology plays a vital role in their curriculum and they seek an exceptional leader to further develop and elevate this area.
About the Role:
- Provide visionary leadership for the Design and Technology department setting the strategic direction and ensuring its continued success.
- Develop and implement a stimulating and comprehensive curriculum that aligns with national standards and ignites students passion for design and innovation.
- Lead a dedicated team of Design and Technology teachers providing mentorship and fostering their professional development.
- Oversee all aspects of the Design and Technology department including budgeting resources and health and safety.
- Monitor student progress analyze data and implement strategies to continuously improve learning outcomes.
- Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
We are seeking an individual with:
- A relevant degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in Design and Technology ideally within a secondary school setting.
- Proven leadership experience with a demonstrable track record of driving improvement within a Design and Technology department.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A passion for design thinking problemsolving and fostering creativity in students.
- The ability to inspire and motivate young people creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
