Job Description

SENDCo OUTSTANDING Primary School Islington

A prestigious primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced SENDCo to lead the provision for students with special educational needs. The school is committed to inclusion and provides a supportive environment for both students and staff. The successful candidate will manage and develop the SEN team ensuring that all pupils receive the highest quality support tailored to their individual needs.

This large inclusive primary school in Islington serves children aged 3 to 11 and has been recognized for its nurturing and supportive environment particularly in its SEN provision. The school values diversity and aims to ensure every child reaches their full potential. With strong links to parents and the community it fosters a collaborative approach to education and student support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the SEN provision ensuring tailored support for students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers parents and external agencies to develop effective SEN strategies and support plans.
  • Lead the SEN team providing guidance and professional development for staff on best practices in SEN.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of SEN students to ensure compliance with national and school standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified SENDCo with a National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it).
  • Experience working with children with a diverse range of special educational needs.
  • Strong leadership organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to inclusion.
  • A clear DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
