Exciting Opportunity for a Food Technology Teacher in Kingston
We are delighted to collaborate with a reputable secondary school in Kingston actively seeking a dedicated and inspiring Food Technology Teacher to join their team. This fulltime permanent position offers an immediate start and the chance to cultivate a love for culinary arts and food science in young learners.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering a comprehensive and engaging Food Technology curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in fostering students practical skills nutritional knowledge and understanding of food safety while encouraging creativity and innovation in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement captivating lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a safe and stimulating learning environment in the food technology classroom ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Assess student progress through practical assessments and theoretical evaluations providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Cultivate a passion for food and nutrition inspiring students to make informed choices about their diet and lifestyle.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Design & Technology department to enrich the overall learning experience and contribute to extracurricular activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Food Technology Home Economics or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level.
- A strong understanding of food science nutrition and food safety principles.
- Excellent practical culinary skills and the ability to inspire creativity in students.
