Job Description
Job Title: SOX Tester
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract
Looking for SOX testing resource. The SoW could include all or a subset of the below.
Conduct SOX 404 Testing: Execute comprehensive evaluations of internal controls over financial reporting . This includes planning and performing tests of design and operational effectiveness for key controls across various financial processes.
Assess Control Design and Effectiveness: Analyze the design of internal controls to verify their adequacy in mitigating identified risks. Conduct operational effectiveness testing to ensure controls are functioning as intended and are aligned with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Identify Control Deficiencies: Identify and document weaknesses in the internal control framework. Evaluate the materiality of these deficiencies and collaborate with process owners to develop and implement remediation plans ensuring timely resolution of identified issues.
Test IT Application Controls (ITACs): Evaluate the effectiveness of applicationspecific controls that are designed to ensure the accuracy completeness and authorization of transactions within financial systems. This includes testing controls related to data entry processing and output as well as reviewing system configurations and access controls.
Test IT General Controls (ITGCs): Assess the overall control environment of IT systems including security change management and operations management. Conduct tests to ensure that ITGCs are effectively safeguarding the integrity of financial data and that changes to systems and applications are properly authorized and documented.
Evaluate Information Produced by the Entity (IPE): Assess the accuracy and completeness of reports and data generated by IT systems that support financial reporting. Perform testing to ensure that IPE is appropriately validated and that any calculations or summaries produced align with underlying source data.
