Job Description Summary: The scope of work for a Respiratory Therapist includes assessment therapeutic intervention and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications. Performs regular assessments of patients and the equipment they are using in order to adjust therapy. Collect and/or analyzes patients blood and other specimens to determine levels of oxygen carbon dioxide and other gases. Measures the patients lung capacity to determine if there are any impairments. Required skills and minimum years of experience. One year of minimum experience. We would be interested in an RT that could work in a number of areas or specialized in NICU PICU or adult ICU. Our first choice would be NICU or NICU/PICU but open to different abilities as an RT. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. Required BLS ND license. ACLS PALS NRP preferred Shift or schedule requirements. We mainly schedule 12 hour shifts but also do 8s and sometimes 4 hour shifts. Four hour shifts happen more with extra shifts or some of our staff are 40 hours/week and they do 3 12s and 1 4 per week. We post shifts of call for the 6 weeks and they can pick whatever works best for them from what is left on the sheet. They can pick it up in 4 8 12 or 16 hour blocks whatever works best for them. Our shifts are 7a7p 7p7a 7a3p 11p11p and 11p7a. Will not work alone each shift has a charge in adult and childrens along with 614 other RTs on a typical day. 16 hours of call in a 6 week schedule weekends required (every other or weekend status). Opportunity to pick up extra shifts. Floating to other units/departments. Inpatient respiratory therapy care. Looking for someone who can work primarily NICU but will also take someone who can do Adult GF Adult/Pediatric ICU. May float to other locations in Fargo as needed: Broadway South University. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. RT creates assignments with a minute based system that pulls from our Epic program. 350 at SMCF campus 40 bed IV NICU 8 bed Peds ICU 24 beds Peds 36 beds Adult ICU 28 beds intermediate Adult ICU 110 beds adult GF 47 beds ER. Orientees complete lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with the unit RTs Additional Comments: Looking for a motivated individual who is able to work independently as well as within a team. Ability to handle quick changes in patient condition willing to help coworkers and ask for help when needed. Communication skills are valuable as we are in constant communication with the healthcare team. We prefer NICU trained RTs to work their contracted time in our 40 bed level IV NICU. Will also be interested in RTs who can work general floors through ICU (Adult &/or pediatric). |
Comments:Rotating 12 hour shifts 77 every other weekend. Option for straight nights straight weekend days or straight weekend nights if interested. Extra shifts available to pick up. Cannot take CRT must be RRT. Willing to wait for license. Process can take 3 to 6 weeks depending on how quickly and accurately the traveler handles the process.
