We are seeking an experienced Strategic Communications Analyst to support the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) with integrated strategic planning and communication analysis. The Strategic Communications Analyst will evaluate and refine communication strategies providing actionable insights to enhance stakeholder engagement public outreach and message alignment with CBP OFOs strategic goals. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to securing the border while facilitating lawful trade and travel that supports the national economy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive data analysis and research to evaluate the effectiveness of internal and external communication strategies identifying areas for improvement.
- Provide actionable recommendations to enhance communication performance ensuring alignment with CBP OFOs strategic objectives and mission.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including communications marketing and policy experts to develop datadriven strategies for stakeholder engagement and public outreach.
- Assist in the creation of detailed reports and presentations on communication performance metrics highlighting key insights and future opportunities.
- Monitor communication and public relations trends providing thought leadership on best practices and emerging tools to inform future campaigns.
- Support the implementation of innovative communication solutions that effectively engage key audiences including government partners industry stakeholders and the public.
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with experience in assessing the performance of communication campaigns and initiatives.
- Ability to translate complex data and research into actionable communication strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of stakeholder engagement best practices and familiarity with public sector communication challenges.
- Experience collaborating in crossfunctional teams and managing multiple projects in a fastpaced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain CBP Suitability
- Bachelors Degree in Communications Public Relations Marketing or a related field
- Experience performing data analysis and research to assess effectiveness of communications strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- CBP suitability within the last 36 months.
Place of Performance: This is a hybrid position with onsite in the Washington D.C. Capital Region.
