Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

The role aims to be recognized as a trusted finance team member. This role supports the finance lead in all training and development activities to develop best-in-class finance professionals and assists in developing their finance team. This role supports a robust control and compliance environment and contributes to implement EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects.

What are we looking for?

  • Ability to analyze large volume of complex financial information from many sources and create reports, forecasts, and projections
  • Strong problem solving skills, including ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate
  • Ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
  • Ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate
  • Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for team to fulfill responsibilities
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to develop presentations and effectively present to all levels of company, hotels & owners.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new programs when required
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Manage and maintain the general ledger, including recording all transactions accurately.
    • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
    • Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Analyze variances between budgeted and actual figures, providing explanations and insights.

Desired candidate profile

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Skills:

  • Technical Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (GAAP or IFRS).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and record-keeping.

Personal Attributes:

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaborating with other departments.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive in identifying issues and providing effective solutions.

  • Familiarity with tax laws and compliance regulations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong ethical standards and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
