What will I be doing?
As a Painter, you will support the Engineering Department to improve the conditions of the hotel through the painting and polishing of all hotel areas. Specifically, a Painter will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
Prepare, paint, and polish work in the hotel rooms and public areas
Complete any decorating schedule on time and to the required standard
Ensure the safe storage of all paints and solvents
Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in proper condition
Follow all Health and Safety rules within the Department and the hotel
Demonstrate exceptional customer service when interacting with Guests
Surface Preparation:
Clean, sand, and prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, dirt, and imperfections.
Fill holes and cracks with appropriate materials to ensure a smooth surface.
Painting:
Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Follow specifications for color, finish, and technique based on project requirements.
Mixing and Matching Colors:
Mix paints and finishes to achieve desired colors and textures, following color schemes or client preferences.
Use color matching tools and techniques to ensure accuracy.
Application Techniques:
Utilize different painting techniques, such as brushwork, rolling, and spraying, to achieve high-quality finishes.
Ensure even coverage and smooth application, avoiding drips and runs.

A trade qualification in Painting preferred
Previous painting experience required
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes
Strong work ethic
A passion for managing a variety of projects and tasks throughout the day
Inspect completed work for quality, ensuring that it meets established standards and client expectations.
Address any issues or touch-ups needed to finalize the project.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in painting, preferably in residential or commercial settings.
Knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
