As a Life Safety Inspection and Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of fire suppression systems and other mechanical and electrical equipment. This position emphasizes conducting thorough inspections and audits while providing actionable recommendations for ongoing maintenance and improvement. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Inspections and Audits:
You will be responsible for performing detailed life safety inspections and audits. This includes evaluating fire suppression systems and other safety-related equipment to ensure they meet regulatory standards and function optimally. Your findings will lead to valuable suggestions for follow-up actions and maintenance plans to enhance safety measures.
Site-Specific Training:
In addition to inspections, you will conduct tailored training sessions for system owners and end-users. This training will cover the proper use and maintenance of fire suppression systems and other safety equipment, empowering users with the knowledge needed to respond effectively in emergencies.
Product Inspection and Repair:
Your role will also involve inspecting products to identify the need for repairs. You will assess components, diagnose issues, and determine whether parts need to be repaired or replaced. Utilizing hand tools, power tools, or specially designed tools, you will ensure that all repairs are conducted efficiently and to the highest standards.
Testing and Adjustment:
After repairs are completed, you will test and adjust the equipment to ensure proper functioning. This step is critical in confirming that all systems are operational and reliable, ready to provide safety in case of an emergency.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with fire suppression systems and other mechanical or electrical equipment. Previous manufacturer certification for vehicle fire suppression systems is a strong asset, as it demonstrates your specialized knowledge and capabilities. Additionally, you must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driver’s abstract, allowing for safe and reliable transportation to various job sites.
