Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Maintenance and Repair

  • Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on mechanical equipment, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and parts replacements.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify mechanical issues through diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures, resolving problems promptly and effectively.
  • Repair Work: Execute repairs on malfunctioning equipment, machinery, and systems, ensuring all repairs meet industry standards and regulations.

2. Installation and Setup

  • Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and mechanical systems, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
  • Calibration: Calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy, following manufacturer specifications.

3. Documentation and Reporting

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed on equipment.
  • Reporting Issues: Communicate any recurring problems or potential safety hazards to supervisors or engineers for further evaluation.

4. Technical Support

  • Assist Engineers: Work closely with mechanical engineers and other technical staff to provide support during projects, including providing feedback on equipment performance.
  • Technical Assistance: Offer technical assistance and advice to other departments or team members as needed.

5. Safety Compliance

  • Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and practices while performing tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to mechanical systems and equipment.

6. Quality Control

  • Inspection: Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure they meet quality and performance standards, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Testing: Conduct tests on equipment after repairs or maintenance to verify proper functionality and safety.

7. Inventory Management

  • Parts Inventory: Monitor and manage inventory levels of spare parts and supplies, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
  • Tool Maintenance: Ensure that tools and equipment used in maintenance and repairs are kept in good condition and properly stored.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and equipment performance, contributing to overall efficiency.

9. Collaboration
