Units include 3 East is a 31bed specialized unit working with Alzheimers/dementia residents and tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and nonverbal communication techniques understanding the difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with residents that have Alzheimers/Dementia as well as understanding that these behaviors can be valid communications. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a homelike environment. The Transitional Rehabilitation Unit occupies the second floor of dYouville Pavilion. This 42bed unit provides shortterm skilled nursing and rehab services to patients recovering from fractures joint replacements back surgery stroke and other illnesses or injuries of a shortterm nature where a rehab approach might be beneficial. Nursing services often include IV therapy wound care and geriatric assessment and management. 3 West is a 42bed longterm care unit. It provides needed care to those residents needing long term placement in a homelike environment. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Associates in Nursing Need valid State ofMaine or compact RN license Experience: 13 years previous RN experience preferred Other Skills Required: Medical terminology preferred Strong teamwork and communication skills required. The ability to work well within a team of other care providers Flexibility required to coverage 24 hours/day 7 days per week Flexibility to float to other units as needed An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
