Job Title: Product Development Engineer Medical Device (Orthopedics)
Location: Indiana
Job Type: Contract
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Product Development Engineer to join our orthopedic medical device team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing developing and bringing innovative orthopedic products to market ensuring they meet quality regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Lead the design and development of orthopedic medical devices from concept through to commercialization ensuring functionality and compliance with industry standards.
Prototyping and Testing: Create prototypes and conduct testing to evaluate product performance safety and efficacy. Analyze test results and iterate designs based on feedback.
CrossFunctional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering regulatory quality assurance and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory submissions ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards.
Project Management: Assist in project planning and timeline development ensuring milestones are met and resources are effectively utilized.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify customer needs market trends and competitive products ensuring the development of relevant and innovative solutions.
Technical Support: Provide technical support to marketing and sales teams assisting in product launches and customer inquiries.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
3 years of experience in product development for medical devices particularly in orthopedics.
Strong understanding of the product development process and regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.
Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
Excellent problemsolving analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with design controls and risk management processes (e.g. ISO 14971).
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in orthopedic devices.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fastpaced teamoriented environment.
