MacArthur are recruiting for a successful manufacturing company for this new position of Product Engineer.

As the Product Engineer you will be at the heart of our clilents product development process helping to translate customer needs and design concepts into manufacturable scalable and innovative products. Reporting to the Product Manager you will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams including both the sales and manufacturing teams with a strong interface with the Group R&D team.

This role requires a strong technical background problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced agile environment.

Key responsibilities for the role of Product Engineer:
  • Product Development: Manage the qualification and approval process create and maintain detailed engineering documentation Maintain General Specification Manual (GSM) Work with local suppliers to identify new components and technologies
  • Product Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure products and materials comply with all relevant legislation Maintain test records and certifications for all products and materials Identify opportunities to improve product sustainability
  • Collaboration with Crossfunctional Teams: Work closely with product management commercial and manufacturing teams. Focal point with Group for all specification product compliance and product sustainability topics Communicate technical details clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Working with the NPI technicians create prototypes and test samples conduct tests and validate product concepts. Refine product designs based on test data performance metrics and customer feedback.
  • Production Support: Provide engineering support during the introduction into production phase
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement design improvements and costreduction initiatives without compromising product quality. Stay updated with industry trends materials and technologies to drive innovation.
  • Project Management: Manage engineering tasks and timelines within product development cycles.

  • Experience and characteristics that would be useful in the role of Product Engineer :
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD or similar).
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Product development processes materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with product lifecycle methodologies.
  • Handson experience with prototyping and testing.
  • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles ideally.
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering or a related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detailoriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in product design.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards would be a bonus but on the job training will be provided.
