Job Description
Job Title: Certified Kidney Dialysis Technician
Location: Deers Head Hospital Center Salisbury MD
Job Type: Contract (13week minimum assignment)
Contract Duration: 12 months (November 1 2024 October 31 2025)
Overview: Mfinite Consulting seeks certified Kidney Dialysis Technicians to provide hemodialysis care for our client. The Dialysis Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining dialysis equipment ensuring patient safety and providing quality care for patients with endstage renal disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate monitor and maintain dialysis equipment according to the standards set by the Center.
- Administer hemodialysis treatment to patients as per the prescribed plan and ensure compliance with safety protocols including CDCs Bloodborne Pathogens Standard.
- Assess patient needs document observations and collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment adhering to infection control guidelines.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to patient emergencies and crises.
- Maintain thorough documentation in patient progress notes and records.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational activities to maintain competency.
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing and utilize positive interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: At least one (1) year of clinical experience specializing in dialysis.
- Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Dialysis Technician (CCHT) by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Training Requirements: Must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of dialysis equipment and adhere to the hospitals training and competency standards.
- CPR Certification: Must possess a current CPR certification.
- Medical Requirements: Must pass a tuberculosis test and drug screening and provide a medical statement of general health including immunization records for Hepatitis B and other vaccines.
- Background Check: A criminal background check is required.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and emergency procedures per the facilitys regulations.
- Willingness to complete 8 hours of initial training before starting duties.
Working Conditions:
- The position may involve working on holidays (New Years Day Thanksgiving Christmas) as part of regular duty hours.
- Technicians must be available to replace absent staff within one (1) hour of callout.
