Technical Skills:
The MDM Data Engineer is responsible for designing implementing and managing the data architecture for Master Data Management systems. They work closely with data governance data stewards and IT teams to ensure that master data is accurate consistent and reliable across the organization. This role involves handling data integration ETL processes data quality and maintenance of the MDM platform.
Key Responsibilities:
MDM Solution Design and Development:
- Design and implement MDM solutions to manage master data entities such as customer product supplier etc.
- Collaborate with data architects and business stakeholders to define data models and structures that align with the organizations MDM strategy.
- Develop and configure MDM systems ensuring scalability performance and security.
Data Integration (ETL/ELT):
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to extract transform and load data from multiple source systems into the MDM repository.
- Work with integration tools (e.g. Informatica Talend Apache NiFi) to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency by integrating data from disparate sources and consolidating them into a single view.
Data Quality and Cleansing:
- Implement data quality processes such as deduplication standardization and validation to ensure highquality master data.
- Identify data anomalies and discrepancies and apply rules to cleanse merge and maintain golden records.
- Perform ongoing data quality audits and improvement initiatives.
Master Data Governance:
Collaborate with data governance teams to define and enforce data governance policies including data stewardship and data lifecycle management.
Data Modeling and Design:
- Design and maintain data models for master data entities relationships and hierarchies.
- Develop complex SQL queries stored procedures and scripts to manipulate and analyze master data.
- Ensure data models support the organizations reporting and analytics needs.
Collaboration with Business Teams:
