About the Role
Are you eager to reinforce our International HQ HR team Join BYD Europeas our new Labour Relations Advisor and play a crucial role in advising labour relations in the Netherlands and partnering across our operations in 18 countries and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Labour Relations Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact for labour relations for the Netherlands and other European entities providing strategic advice on labour laws and regulations.
- Develop implement and manage labour relations policies procedures and strategies to ensure compliance and foster positive labour relations.
- Act as a liaison with local HR teams to support labour relations activities including the drafting and negotiation of CLAs.
- Manage relationships with works councils and unions overseeing consultations agreement processes and maintaining productive dialogue.
- Policy Development and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain international labour relations policies ensuring alignment with local laws and company guidelines.
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop and roll out new labour relations initiatives and compliance programs across European operations.
- Conduct regular reviews of HR policies and procedures to identify risks and implement necessary changes.
- Employee Relations and Grievance Management:
- Manage complex employee relations issues and grievances ensuring fair consistent and timely resolution across different jurisdictions.
- Lead investigations related to employee complaints whistleblower claims and disciplinary actions ensuring adherence to internal protocols and legal requirements.
- Labour Dispute Resolution:
- Provide counsel and support to managers and HR teams in handling labour disputes and negotiations mitigating potential conflicts.
- Represent the company in negotiations and dispute resolution processes maintaining positive and constructive relationships with employee representatives.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in labour relations management within a large international organization preferably in a multicountry role.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of Dutch and European labour laws with proven experience in managing union relationships and drafting CLAs.
- Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken); proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Labour Relations Law or related field.
