Candidate Must Be local to TX.
Title: Sr. Systems Engineer
Location: Onsite in (Fort Worth TX)
Duration: 612 months Contract
Job Description:
Experience:
- 58 years experience preferred
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience in infrastructure engineering preferred
Required skills:
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Strong sense of ownership
- Highly curious
- Fascination with big airplanes and travel
- Able to work independently with minimal direction
- Able to analyze troubleshoot diagnose and determine root cause with minimal assistance
- Able to create solutions and implement them with minimal assistance
- Able to lift 50 pounds
Technical Skills:
- Windows Desktop and Server
- Ubuntu
- They do not have to have working experience with both Windows and Linux but they will need to work with both.
- 350 laptops
- 100 kiosks
- Working knowledge of networks and networking
- Working knowledge of security protocols
- Patching
- Upgrading and standing up new environments
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Standard 3 days on site more as required.
- Travel up to 25%.
- Implement technical requirements and solutions
- Perform configuration and maintenance of applications and servers
- Maintain system documentation
- Support enterprise application performance management monitoring and logging solutions
- Troubleshoot and support systems and applications across onpremise and physical environments
Desired Skills (mastery):
- Windows Server 2019
- Powershell BASH or similar
- Server virtualization technologies (VMware ESX Server Citrix XenApp Server Microsoft HyperV)
- System monitoring tools (Dynatrace or others)
- SSL technologies (https sftp SSH TLS etc.)
Desired Skills (proficient):
- Windows 10 O/S
- Ubuntu 18
- Storage technologies (SAN and NAS)
- TC/IP Networking
- Network technologies (firewall routing LAN WAN DNS)
- Application and Web servers
- PuTTY SSH and Telnet Client
Desired Skills (familiar):
- MySQL
- Apache
