Job Description
Our client in Maryland is a leading provider of autonomous systems for groundbased movement in the working world. Amongst some of the earliest innovators in the field of driverless technology our customer is focused on building systems that protect frontline soldiers and enable civilian workers in our industrial base
As the Head of Hardware you will be taking embedded products from concept to production. You will be leading teams of 30 multidisciplinary engineers in the process as well as coordinating with supply chain outside vendors and contractors to make sure the product production is complete.
Qualifications
100% onsite position in Clarksburg MD. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Requirements:
- B.S. M.S. or Ph.D. degree in the field of Robotics Computer Science or Electrical Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 5 years of leadership experience with teams of 20 engineers including electrical engineers mechanical engineers and firmware/embedded engineers
- Experience driving the development of products from the prototyping phase to largescale production
- Experience managing the hardware and software product development cycle for embedded products that are required to withstand the outside elements
- Experience working with crossfunctional groups (supply chain production field operations/support hardware/software/mechanical/electrical/integration/test/safety engineers) throughout the entire product development life cycle to ensure that final products meet the requirements/objectives and the product can be effectively released to production and field support.
- Familiarity supervising engineers working with Linux (Ubuntu) or other POSIX and RealTime Operating Systems (RTOS) (NuttX QNX and/or VxWorks specifically)
- Experience reading schematics and basic electronics as well as understanding hardware documentation for the purposes of writing drivers.

$200000 $300000 per year
