Location: Various locations across Alberta
Trauma Surgeons are specialized physicians who provide surgical care to patients with traumatic injuries. They work in emergency settings and handle complex surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform emergency surgical procedures on trauma patients.
- Assess and stabilize patients with lifethreatening injuries.
- Collaborate with emergency department staff to develop treatment plans.
- Conduct postoperative care and followup assessments.
- Engage in research and education related to trauma care.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of residency in surgery.
- Board certification in general surgery and trauma surgery.
- Strong decisionmaking and surgical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in highstakes environments.
