Job Description

Children s Care Home Manager Ofsted Registered

Location: London East

Job Summary:
The Childrens Care Home Manager (Ofsted Registered) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a childrens care home ensuring a safe nurturing and supportive environment for children in care.

The role of an Ofsted Registered Manager is pivotal in ensuring the highest level of care and regulatory compliance within a residential setting.

This role involves managing junior staff developing and implementing care plans and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards OFSTED


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:


Leadership and Management:

Lead supervise and support staff to create a positive team environment.

Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.

Facilitate training and professional development for team members.

ChildCentered Care:

Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each childs needs.

Foster a supportive atmosphere that promotes the emotional physical and educational development of children.

Engage with children encouraging participation in activities and decisionmaking.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure the home meets all regulatory and statutory requirements.


o Maintain registration standards as per Children s Home Regulations and Care Standards 2015 and ensure compliance with OFSTED regulations.





Monitor and maintain high standards of care and safety.

Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Maintain open communication with children families and external agencies.

Liaise with social services schools and other professionals involved in the children s care.

Attend meetings and contribute to care planning and reviews.



Financial Management:

Manage the home s budget and resources effectively.

Ensure costeffective use of resources while maintaining quality care.

Emergency Response and Crisis Management:

Develop and implement emergency procedures and protocols.

Respond to incidents and crises effectively ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff.


Qualifications:


Relevant qualifications in childcare social work or related field (e.g. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management QCF).

Significant experience in childrens residential care including supervisory or managerial roles.

Strong understanding of child development safeguarding practices and relevant legislation.

Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of children and staff.

Proven experience in residential care management particularly in a role compliant with OFSTED regulations.
Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Children s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015 Childrens Act 1989 Data Protection Act 1998 Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018.




Working Conditions:


The role may require evening and weekend hours. You will be based on site.

The manager will be expected to be oncall for emergencies.

A supportive and collaborative work environment with ongoing training opportunities.
