Job Description
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled QA Engineer with a preference for Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) and strong experience in the accounting domain especially with platforms like QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of testing financial and accounting software systems ensuring functionality accuracy and reliability. You will work closely with our development and product teams to create and implement automated and manual testing processes to ensure the highest quality of software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop execute and maintain automated and manual test plans for accounting software with a particular focus on platforms such as QuickBooks.
- Collaborate with developers product owners and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and accounting workflows.
- Identify document and track defects and issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform functional regression integration and performance testing of accounting systems.
- Analyze accounting data and validate the accuracy and reliability of reports generated by the software.
- Participate in code reviews providing insights from a QA perspective to ensure testability.
- Write and maintain automated test scripts in alignment with accounting domain requirements.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards in the softwares accounting functionalities.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for product improvements based on testing results.
- Continuously improve test automation frameworks tools and processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer or SDET preferably with a focus on accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and workflows.
- Handson experience with automation testing tools (e.g. Selenium Appium TestNG JUnit).
- Proficient in scripting/programming languages such as Python Java or C#.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira TestRail).
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
- Experience with REST API testing using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and processes.
- Experience with QuickBooks integration and related financial systems.
