Software tester to our Engineering Operations team

IAR is looking for a software tester to work with software solutions for developing embedded applications. Our test team operates at the core of our engineering department working with a variety of software components and testing methodologies to uphold the high quality our customers have come to expect from us. About the Role

Your primary responsibilities will consist of testing our software products together with creating and maintaining test cases. We use a mix of manual and automated testing where you will actively take part in improving our efficiency by shifting the balance towards automation. Your colleagues will be a group of great team players who work together to reach the goals we set up.

Our product supports a wide range of microcontroller architectures and runs on both Linux and Windows so you will get to work in a variety of environments. To test components related to our proprietary debug probe Ijet and debugger CSPY we have a hardware test rig which you and the test team will own maintain and expand.

We work in an agile methodology where we are eager to find new ways of working smarter. This also applies to our test procedures which you will be improving and maintaining together with the team.

Working closely with the other teams in our engineering department you will take part in test planning and help educating best quality practices. As a member of our test team you play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive the highest quality experience.

Qualifications

We believe that you are detail oriented and enjoy the creative process of hunting down those hardtofind bugs. You prefer working together with others and thrive in a collaborative environment where ideas and knowledge is shared. You realize the importance of having a structured way of working but are curious to explore new things.

To succeed in this role we think you have

• At least 2 years of professional experience as a tester in the software industry
• Experience of test automation and test planning
• Good understanding and communication skills in English

A bonus if you also have

• Academic background in engineering computer science or other relevant field
• Good understanding and communication skills in Swedish
• Knowledge of testing methodologies such as unit testing integration testing and acceptance testing
• Domain knowledge and experience from software development in any of the fields: desktop applications embedded compilers language tool development IDEs
• Competence in scripting languages on Linux and/or Windows
