Full time Salary : $160165k and the role requires being onsite 34 days a week
- Onsite: 34 days a week across different datacenters in the DMV area so the candidate will need to have a car.
- Main location: 12211 Plum Orchard Dr Silver Spring MD 20904.
- Requirements: Must be COVID vaccinated have their MMR vaccine and be able to pass a drug test.
- Work hours: 8 AM to 5 PM (lunch hour is unpaid).
- Certifications: Must be CCNP or CCIE level. Yes certification is required
Minimum Work Experience
7 years Handson systems engineering experience. (Required) And
Required Skills/Knowledge
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g. IPSEC HSRP BGP OSPF 802.11 QoS).
Handson experience with monitoring network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
Required Licenses and Certifications
One or more of: CCNP CCIE
Functional Accountabilities
Network Management
- Configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g. routers switches firewalls load balancers VPN QoS)
- Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs patches hot fixes and security configurations
- Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Monitor system resource utilization trending and capacity planning.
- Provide Level2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
System Integration/ Implementation
- Engineer and build and maintain network platforms and services.
- Integrate network products into existing network technologies.
- Implement administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices including wireless access points firewall routers switches controllers.
- Participate in Installation move adds and changes in the environment.
- Set and manage deadlines.
System/Project Planning
- Engineer and deploy network infrastructure systems design and configuration.
- Participate in design of Disaster recovery planning.
- Assist in the creation of test plans and scripts for backup and recovery solutions.
- Assist in the development of network solutions.
- Performs hardware and network diagnosis.
- Capable of devising ways to accomplish a difficult purpose; ability to recognize a problem and construct an effective solution compatible with overall company operations.
Technical Proficiency
- Demonstrate understanding of standard networking protocols virtual environments SDWAN ACI and hybrid cloud.
- Network security experience.
- Maintain professional expertise through continuing education at conferences seminars user group meetings & review of current literature.
- Pursue industry standard technical certifications.
- Provide technical support and consultation to IS staff.
IT Best Practices
- Actively participate in the Departments ITIL processes
- Participate in the Incident Management process; proactively work to resolve Incidents and meet service requests; document relevant data on requests and resolutions in agreed upon timeframe.
- Escalate incidents according to procedures; convert incidents to change requests as needed.
- Participate in the Change Control process; complete change tasks and update them with relevant information and status changes.
