The CCTV Controller is responsible for monitoring and managing the colleges surveillance systems to ensure the safety and security of students staff and property. This role involves realtime observation incident reporting and collaboration with security personnel to maintain a secure environment on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
CCTV Monitoring:
- Continuously monitor live CCTV feeds to detect suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and attention to detail while observing various areas of the campus.
Incident Reporting:
- Document and report incidents or anomalies observed on CCTV.
- Prepare detailed reports for security management regarding any significant findings.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with security staff and local law enforcement when required.
- Assist in coordinating responses to incidents and emergencies.
System Maintenance:
- Ensure that all CCTV equipment is functioning properly.
- Report technical issues to the IT department or maintenance personnel.
Data Management:
- Manage recorded footage according to college policies and legal requirements.
- Retrieve and provide video evidence when necessary for investigations.
Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to privacy laws and institutional policies related to surveillance.
- Participate in regular audits of CCTV systems and protocols.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma
- Experience: Previous experience in a security role preferably in a CCTV monitoring position.
Skills:
- Proficient in operating CCTV systems and related technology.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
- Shift work may be required including evenings weekends and holidays.
