Maintenance Technician

Hourly Rate: $30.00$40.00 (Depending on Experience)
Leading manufacturer is looking for a Maintenance Technician to provide safe and reliable support at our food manufacturing plant. Candidate must have previous electrical experience working in a manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate response and support to production breakdowns on all equipment in the facility.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and relevant mechanical and electrical repairs on all equipment at the proper scheduled intervals.
- Assist in the maintenance of all building utilities such as heat refrigeration boiler and hot water system compressed air system phones plumbing lighting electrical and plant alarm systems.
- Perform inspections and minor repairs to building interior and exterior structural areas such as floors walls ceilings and doors.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements. This includes the understanding that the job is not finished until accurately completing related forms and documents and ensuring all tools and parts are accounted for.
- This includes strict adherence to OSHA and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and requirements. These include but are not limited to; Lock out Tag Out (LOTO) ladder safety and fall protection confined spaces use and storage of hazardous materials OSHA National Fire Protection Administration (NFPA) guidelines National Electrical Codes (NEC) etc.
- Follow standard operating procedures and comply with food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
- Candidates must have strong electrical experience in an manufacturing/industrial setting.
- Mechanical and plumbing experience also desired with knowledge of compressed air.
- This position will assist the Maintenance Team with off hour response to plant issues that may arise 24 hours/7 days per week.
- Prior experience working for a food manufacturing plant required.
- This position will work in refrigerated climates of 3438 degrees at times.
- Must pass a preemployment criminal background check and preemployment drug test.

Minimum 2yrs manufacturing planning experience in an MRP supported environment. Some college and CPIM or other relevant certification preferred. A background in logistics, inventory control, or purchasing is beneficial. Self-starter and comfortable working in a team or independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities sometimes fluctuate. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including strong Excel experience) Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills Ability to quickly learn new computer software
