Leading manufacturer in the food industry is looking for a Quality Assurance Process Control Technician
Job Summary:
Provide support to the QA Department production shipping and receiving.
Implement and monitor procedures and processes to ensure product quality is produced packaged and shipped to specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Receiving Utility Workers to check weights units of measure and quality/appearance of incoming ingredients and document issues.
- Conduct checks on food products sizes and weights by measuring and counting
- Conduct checks in production rooms to make sure accurate data is being input.
- Conduct checks on finished goods to verify expiration date on container matches case label.
- Review outgoing shipments for accurate counts expiration dates
- Assist in creating and updating company SOP s and enforce that they are being followed.
- Train or retrain employees on proper procedures as needed.
- Perform regular product testing when needed.
- Assist in implementing and documenting corrective actions for any deviations from written plans.
- Write corrective actions when needed and perform follow up
- Participate in and conduct internal audits.
- Keep document and record registers up to date.
- Assist in organizing the SQF (Safe Quality Food) information with the creation of manuals registers and schedules.
- Attend operational Meetings when needed
- Communicate any plant practices that need improvement to QA Manager
- Document any incidents for nonconforming ingredients.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science or Biology (preferred)
- USDA/HACCP/SQF experience
- Food Safety knowledge
- GMP knowledge
- Labeling experience
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills required
- Willing to work a flexible schedule.
- Able to work in a dynamic fastpaced environment. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment 3438 degrees.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word/Excel

Minimum 2yrs manufacturing planning experience in an MRP supported environment. Some college and CPIM or other relevant certification preferred. A background in logistics, inventory control, or purchasing is beneficial. Self-starter and comfortable working in a team or independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities sometimes fluctuate. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including strong Excel experience) Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills Ability to quickly learn new computer software
