You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs a Carbon Project Manager, you will play a vital role in shaping an innovative program aimed at empowering grassroots organizations to develop impactful environmental projects. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to climate action while working collaboratively with diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Refine and Enhance Documentation: One of your primary tasks will be to review and improve materials for the Academy’s inaugural cohort of projects. This includes enhancing templates, training guides, and pre-feasibility studies to ensure they are comprehensive and user-friendly. Your expertise will help streamline processes and make resources more accessible for project developers.
Prepare for Future Projects: In addition to supporting current initiatives, you will help build the framework and content for the next cohort of projects. Your work will involve ensuring that all future projects are primed for commercial launch, setting the stage for successful implementation and sustainability. You will collaborate with our team to create a structured approach that can be replicated and scaled.
Source and Select Projects: A critical aspect of your role will be identifying and evaluating promising projects to join the Academy. You will be responsible for sourcing a minimum of five new contracts for the upcoming cohort. This will involve conducting thorough assessments to ensure projects align with our mission and have the potential for significant environmental impact.
Support Project Development: You will work closely with grassroots organizations to bolster their project documentation and readiness. This includes guiding them through technical requirements and best practices, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of carbon project development. Your support will be instrumental in building their capacity and enhancing their impact.
Qualifications:
Experience: We are looking for candidates with at least three years of experience in carbon project development, particularly with a strong focus on nature-based solutions (NBS). Your background should demonstrate a solid understanding of environmental projects and their implementation.
Skills: Proficiency in creating detailed project documentation is essential. This includes experience with Project Idea Notes (PIN), Project Design Documents (PDD), and business plans. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively will be crucial.
Mindset: A passion for environmental impact is a must. We value a collaborative approach to working with diverse communities, so your interpersonal skills will be key in fostering relationships and building trust with project partners.
Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Spanish or French will be considered an asset, as it will enhance communication with a broader range of stakeholders.
