Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Cisco)
Location: Washington DC (6 blocks from Whitehouse) /Hybrid /Onsite 34 days a week
Duration: 9 Months Contract

Job Description:

Must Have:
Must have at least 9 years of Network Engineer experience
Worked in Higher Education before (University or School or State Education Programs)
Experience with NextGen Firewalls and Access Switches
Must be able to manage and remediate documentation changes

POSITION SUMMARY
Support our data network and services including data centers AWS cloud network services wide area/metro area/local area networks. The incumbent manages operational reliability and performance of existing buildings and widearea networks and quickly resolves any network service interruptions that occur. As required by business changes extends and enhances the company network. May be required to implement new configurations in AWS data centers or desktop environments. This position works as part of a Network Engineering group. May require travel outside of normal business hours. Participate in 24x7 oncall support rotation

Required Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of professional communications and network systems in the completion of diverse assignments.
Understand the implications of work in other areas.
Has highly developed problemsolving skills to independently resolve issues using defined parameters and technical expertise.
Clearly understands the communications and network needs of the organization and has skills needed to address those needs.
Indepth advanced understanding of various network hardware platforms networkrelated protocols and software including an understanding of OSI layers IP/TCP protocols at a complex level and related technical standards critical to the operation of interconnected networks.
Demonstrated ability to analyze highly complex communication hardware and software systems for maintaining a realtime resource that impacts OPwide network users.
Demonstrated ability to gather organize and analyze data in the completion of a variety of functional assignments.
Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Selfmotivated and works independently and as part of a team.
Abilty to interpret cabling plans and oversee installers to ensure standards are meet. Familiar with cabling and termination specification maintenance and problem determination.
Indepth knowledge of Cisco VSS routers switches Cisco wireless Palo Alto Network FW Global Protect VPN.
Ability to deploy and maintain Infoblox DDI
Ability to design and deploy networkrelated configurations in AWS.
At least 8 years of experience designing implementing and maintaining enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN networks.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Infoblox NIOSbased DNS/DHCP/IPAM implementations.
Indepth knowledge of Cisco VSS routers switches Cisco wireless.
Indepth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP OSPF)
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Ability to plan configure and install Citrix NetScaler/ADC load balancing redirect and content switching configurations.
Education
Bachelors degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
