Position Overview:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a fulltime position primarily located in Orlando FL with some remote work flexibility. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various general accounting duties including maintaining accurate financial records preparing reports and supporting overall financial management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical accounting skills attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger including posting journal entries reconciling accounts and ensuring accurate financial data
- Assist in the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Support monthend and yearend close processes
- Assist with payroll processing accounts payable/receivable and expense reporting
- Prepare financial reports for management and external stakeholders as needed
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance with applicable regulations
- Work closely with team members to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Participate in internal audits to support financial controls and compliance
- Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 2 years of experience in general accounting or related role
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills including the ability to work with large data sets and use complex formulas
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fastpaced environment
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience with tax compliance or preparation is a plus.
- CPA or CPA candidate is a plus but not mandatory
