Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Virtualization Engineer to support the modernization of legacy U.S. Air Force network infrastructure. The role will involve migrating services to a new AWS Cloud Environment and working in a secure setting at Hill Air Force Base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee monitoring administration and compliance with VMWare standards to ensure system recoverability and policy adherence.
- Manage the technical infrastructure including the application environments and server virtualization processes.
- Oversee the capture and virtualization of production data.
- Evaluate and implement server virtualization requirements.
- Ensure proper implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure the virtualization infrastructure.
- Manage encryption infrastructure across hardware environments.
- Design plan build configure and maintain the virtual server infrastructure.
Required Skills & Certifications:
At least one of the following certifications is desired:
- VMWare Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization
- VMWare Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- VMWare vSphere (v6)
- VMWare vCenter
- VMware vRealize Suite (Cloud Management Platform)
- VMWare Continuous Data Protection
- DBaaS in VMWare Cloud
- VMWare Aria Suite
- VMWare NSX
- Familiarity with SAN solutions preferably Dell EMC VNX
- Experience with backup solutions like Cohesity or NetBackup
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business IT or a related field with 5 years of experience evaluating IT’s impact on organizational structures and supporting organizational goals.
- A master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience may also be considered.
