Role: Project manager (POC)
Duration: 6 months
Location: Remote
Rate: $65 $68/hr on W2
Job Summary: The IT Project Manager Proof of Concept (PoC) will be responsible for leading and managing the development testing and implementation of proof of concept projects within the organization. The role requires a strong background in IT project management excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. The Project Manager will work closely with crossfunctional teams including developers analysts and business stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of PoC initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage the endtoend process of proof of concept projects including initiation planning execution monitoring and closure. Develop project plans timelines and budgets and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand project requirements define objectives and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business goals. Facilitate communication between stakeholders and technical teams.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Proactively address any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and lead crossfunctional teams including developers analysts and other IT professionals. Provide guidance support and direction to ensure team members are aligned and focused on project objectives.
- Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is complete accurate and uptodate. This includes project charters status reports technical documentation and postproject evaluations.
- Testing & Validation: Oversee the testing and validation of PoC solutions ensuring they meet the required specifications and business needs. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze project outcomes and gather feedback to improve processes methodologies and tools for future projects. Implement lessons learned into future PoC initiatives.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with thirdparty vendors and contractors involved in PoC projects ensuring they deliver on agreedupon terms and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- PMP PRINCE2 or other relevant project management certification is preferred.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in IT project management with a focus on leading proof of concept or pilot projects.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex IT projects from inception to completion.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project JIRA or Trello.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure) and emerging technologies is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
