We are looking for a SATCOM IP Network Support Specialist to work in Hill AFB UT supporting our client.

Clearance: Secret

Salary: $53000


Qualifications:

  • Must have DoD8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security CE or equivalent) at start date.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operations environment.
  • Moderate experience with one or more of the following: Utilization of SAA/GAAs as a source documentation for network configuration.
  • Moderate understanding and experience with the operation and configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices.
  • Moderate understanding and experience with Satellite Communications (SATCOM) architecture and signal flow.
  • Currently possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to manage IP over SATCOM networks using iDirect/Linkway/EBEM or equivalent FMTDMA hubs
  • High school diploma and 14 years of experience.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly sit walk stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person squatting/ stooping/kneeling reaching above the head and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand arm or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close distance depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist waist to shoulder or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.


Job Duties:

  • Create and update tickets utilizing ticketing applications to aid in customer problem tracking and resolution in all aspects of the network integral to our clients Baseband IF and RF communications.
  • Monitor network events and element management failures in realtime on a 24x7x365 basis.
  • Perform IP network support to include configuration of routers switches firewalls and voice equipment.
  • Perform IP satellite modem support to include configuration and issue of option/boot/RSP files.
  • Remotely access and deaccess customers into the IP/SATCOM networks
  • Work with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed operators to troubleshoot and resolve SATCOM and IP network issues.
  • Verify equipment is operating in the baseline configuration.
  • Remotely provide global equipment configurations at DoD SATCOM Gateways utilizing the Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).
