Job Description
Wonderful kind warm family is looking for a new rota nanny. The nanny who has been with them for 6 years is now leaving.
The family has 2 little girls aged 4 & 6yrs and are in need of a genuinely kind caring loving nanny to start early November and stay with them for years!
The rota schedule can be 1 or 2 weeks on/ off. 2 weeks probably being the preference.
Nanny must speak fluent English to be able to help with the girls homework.
Nanny must be able to drive to take the children to school on occasion and to activities and playdates.
You should be a dog lover as this warm and loving family has 2 dogs both gorgeous and sweet. 1 big dog and 1 small.
Mum works and this role is a mix of sole care and shared care. You need to be ok with mum being around. Mum is really lovely easy to chat to open minded and very kind.
Nanny must muck in with household duties when children at school. Shopping walking dog tidying organising cooking for children light admin school communications errands such as buying presents for childrens birthday parties ensuring the school uniforms are always cleaned and ready school bags packed arranging activities etc.
This rota position is 24/7 on a 1 or 2 week rota schedule. Live In when on rota and live out when off rota. But nanny should live within short commute of London. Mum works full time and sometimes travels for work there will be a mixture of sole and shared care and occasional proxy parenting. At Easter and Christmas the family will be in South Africa. They have staff there so nanny is not required to travel. other times they might travel to Europe or USA and would like nanny to accompany.
Every 2nd weekend the girls go to their father who lives 10 minutes away. You would accompany them but would not need to stay overnight as they come home to sleep.
They are looking for a flexibly minded down to earth nanny who is happy to muck in. Someone with the right attitude putting the family and in particular girls first is essential.
The family employs a housekeeper and cleaner so housework and cooking is mostly not required but nanny should be able to cook nutritious meals.
The children are very outdoorsy so a nanny who is genuinely outdoorsy too would be important for them. They are allowed limited screen time at the weekends and sugar is not forbidden. A balance is important.
Mum seeks a nanny who is loving and fun yet able to set appropriate boundaries. Nanny will naturally be a role model to the 2 girls.
Nanny should always think ahead plan and anticipate. Always have plan B & C in mind as plan A does not always go to plan. Mum needs to be able to rely on nanny completely. They will be part of the parent team.
They have a lovely home and a happy home and want nanny to fit in well.
The family is ready to interview asap and can offer trials asap ahead of a preferred start date of early November.
Requirements
Fluent English speaking nanny
Confident driver (car provided)
Must be ok with familys 2 dogs (1 medlarge other small)
Experience with children aged 47 yrs
Previous rota experience and / or live in experience is preferred but not essential
Had considerable experience in sole charge of 2 young children and also with shared care.
Proxy parenting experience very useful.
Living within short commute of London
Up to date Enhanced DBS (we can help you apply)
Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate
Right to work in UK
Good references for recent and relevant nanny work and jobs that have each lasted a good length of time.
Able to run after young children
Be available long term
Must be tidy and clean and happy to keep home environment tidy and clean
Must be happy to muck in and do household related jobs and errands while children at school (mum is ok for you to also go to the gym or go for a walk once other tasks are completed)
Please note this is a strictly Non smoking position.
Nanny / childcare experience. Teaching / Tutoring experience preferred. English
