Position Overview
Responsibilities consist of legal research and regulatory analysis of environmental, health and safety (EH&S), chemical control, cosmetics, food, occupational safety, and pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and standards of EMEA region. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Research and analyze the relevant laws, regulations, and standards of MEA region with focus on Middle East & Africa Chemicals management and Food regulatory database coverage.
Write regulatory news and summaries for regulatory changes and development (including up and coming legislation) in the MEA region.
Compile information from the laws, regulations and standards and organize & analyze them for the purposes of Client’s product lines and services.
Conduct regulatory framework research in support of new company initiatives (e.g. ESG, Sustainability, PFAS, EPR, etc.) for new content development.
Provide customers with regulatory analysis and compliance requirements of MEA rules and regulations.
Qualifications
B.A / B.S. in Law, Environmental Science, Health Sciences, Political Science or International Affairs (Master’s degree highly preferred).
More than 2 years of regulatory/ legal experience (preferably in EH&S industry).
Legal/ legislative or chemical background highly preferred.
Experience working both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
Skills
Excellent comprehension in reading English documents. Oral and written fluency or proficiency in English is required.
Arabic language skill is a must; Turkish is a plus.
Excellent ability to interpret regulations into data format.
Excellent ability to present complex ideas into a simple and clear manner.
Excellent analytical, research and writing skills required.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Legal/legislative or chemical background for the Middle East & Africa highly preferred.
Ability to work both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary teams required.
Ability to work with a high degree of efficiency with little supervision required.
Strong problem-solving thinking skills required.
