Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

In the dynamic field of strategy consulting, Principals play a critical role in expanding the business landscape. They are responsible for managing senior client relationships, leading multifaceted projects, and demonstrating deep expertise in one or more relevant sectors. Ideal candidates will not only excel in these areas but will also evolve to generate their own leads, effectively leveraging the firm’s established relationships to drive business growth. This position is subject to Saudization, meaning that only candidates holding Saudi nationality will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Senior Project Management: The Principal will oversee the planning, organization, and execution of projects, ensuring that all activities align with strategic objectives. This involves guiding and mentoring junior team members, fostering an environment of learning and professional growth.

Client Relationship Management: Strengthening existing client relationships is paramount. The Principal will ensure dedicated senior-level coverage, working collaboratively with stakeholders to establish the client agenda. This includes providing strategic counsel and leading delivery teams to meet client expectations effectively.

Thought Leadership: The role demands creative insights and innovative thinking to tackle complex issues that are vital to the strategic success of clients. Principals will offer thought leadership to help clarify challenges and drive impactful solutions.

Data Management: Data plays a crucial role in strategic consulting. The Principal will develop key hypotheses and insights, lead data-collection initiatives, and analyze results to inform strategic decisions. Regular meetings with clients will ensure that requirements are clearly established and progress is tracked.

Project Leadership: Managing multiple components of various projects is essential. The Principal will translate findings into actionable recommendations and solutions while ensuring that all project elements are integrated and aligned with overarching goals.

Business Development: A significant aspect of the role involves growing the firm’s presence in the Middle East market. This includes marketing and selling consulting services, leveraging personal networks and the firm’s existing client relationships to secure new business opportunities.

Team Building: The Principal will also play a vital role in building a strong practice by attracting, retaining, and developing a talented team. By motivating highly qualified staff, they contribute to a culture of excellence that drives the firm’s success.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of postgraduate work experience, with at least five years in a strategy consulting environment.
  • Experience in strategy development.
  • Deep background and strong credibility within a relevant industry, either through consulting or client-side expertise.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships at senior levels and build client relationships.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on driving complex projects and managing project/client teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of sustained progression and consistency in employment.
  • Functional experience within the relevant industry.
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal communication (verbal and written), and selling skills; a natural team player with cultural versatility and a good “cultural fit”.
  • Strong leadership and proven ability to make an impact in a growing organization; a self-starter, assertive, with a high degree of self-confidence, maturity, and executive presence.
  • Ability to inspire others and help them succeed.
