Location: Various locations across Alberta
Histotechnologists prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination aiding in the diagnosis of diseases. They utilize various techniques to ensure specimen quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process embed section and stain tissue specimens.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure quality control.
- Assist pathologists in diagnosing diseases by preparing samples.
- Document and record laboratory procedures and results accurately.
- Stay informed about new histology techniques and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in histotechnology or related field.
- Certification by a recognized body (e.g. ASCP).
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Good organizational and time management skills
