We are seeking a dedicated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Application Support Specialist to join our healthcare IT team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation and support of our EMR systems. You will work closely with healthcare providers, clinical staff, and IT professionals to troubleshoot issues, optimize system performance, and enhance user experience. The ley responsibilities are:
User Support: Provide front-line support to users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to the EMR application. Assist with troubleshooting and ensure timely resolution of technical problems.
System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the EMR system, performing regular updates, backups, and system checks to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
Training and Documentation: Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on EMR functionalities. Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and documentation for processes and workflows.
Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to understand their needs and gather feedback for system enhancements. Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades, patches, and new feature implementations.
Data Management: Assist with data entry, validation, and reporting within the EMR system. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy standards.
Issue Tracking: Maintain records of support requests and system issues. Use issue-tracking software to monitor and report on problem resolution trends.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to EMR systems. Participate in projects aimed at optimizing workflows and improving user experience.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of EMR software, including popular systems like Epic, Cerner, or Allscripts. Familiarity with data entry, system updates, and troubleshooting is essential.
Clinical Understanding: A background in healthcare helps specialists understand clinical workflows and the needs of medical professionals, ensuring that the EMR system supports patient care effectively.
Training and Support: Ability to train staff on EMR usage, providing clear instructions and ongoing support. Excellent communication skills are vital for addressing user queries and promoting best practices.
Data Management: Skills in managing patient data, ensuring compliance with regulations like HIPAA, and maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues, improve system performance, and enhance user experience.
