Principal Automation Specialist Digital Engineering Developer - Parsons

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Principal Automation Specialist. In this position you will lead the automation team in creating implementing and maintaining custom addons for Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D. This role requires a deep understanding of both software platforms and the ability to translate complex engineering requirements into functional automation tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development project management and a thorough understanding of roadway and infrastructure design processes.

What Youll Be Doing:

• Led and managed a team of automation specialists across multiple engineering centres.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.

• Primary interface with the engineering teams on all technical matters.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and requirements.

• Proven experience in drafting and reviewing software requirements specification documentation.

• Responsible for budgeting/cost forecasting within the automation specialism/discipline.

• Responsible for prioritising delivering and managing automation requirements

• Ability to adopt a riskaverse stance reviewing risks and proposing mitigation solutions for automation.

• Manages the development implementation and maintenance of custom addons for Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D.

• Ability to analyse code evaluate quality readability and adherence to coding standards and ensure UI/UX design quality.

• Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing automation tools to enhance functionality and efficiency.

• Lead complex automation tool development testing deployment and maintenance in various engineering and building information modelling (BIM) software.

• Ability to generate detailed reports (including KPI reporting).

• Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to senior management.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in Autodesk software and automation technologies.

What Youll Bring:

• Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.

• 5 years experience in leading a development team

• 10 years experience in system development using .NET/C#.

• 5 years experience in Revit and Civil 3D.

• Indepth knowledge of roadway and infrastructure design processes.

• Strong understanding of BIM (Building Information Modelling) principles.

• Strong programming skills in languages such as VB C# Lisp and Python.

• Indepth experience with RDBMS in systems development using MSSQL.

• Extensive experience in developing addons for Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D.

• Proficiency in various engineering and BIM software APIs e.g. Revit and Civil 3D.

• Highly knowledgeable in system analysis.

• Proven experience in managing and leading technical teams.

• Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
