Job Description

PennDOT seeks a Test Automation Specialist.

***This requisitions current PO is funded through 6/30/25 so use that date in the RTR. Contract end date is dependent on the final schedule and projected needs. Historically additional funding should then last a year and occur from 7/1/256/30/26.***
***Work locationis majority remote; however selected candidates will be required to report INPERSON for an interview at PennDOT s offices at The Keystone Building (400 North Street 5th floorHarrisburg PA). Engaged candidates will also need to report INPERSON to pick up commonwealthissued equipment as part of onboarding and may be required to report for occasionalinperson meetings or training.***

***The method of interview is Round 1 virtual via Teams then Round 2 inperson at The Keystone Building.***
***With that in mind all candidates must be roughly within an hour of central PA specifically The Keystone Building.***
***Selectedcandidates must provide a completed PATCH check and work authorization done atvendor expense prior to engagement.***
***Onsite work location is a secured floor. Engaged candidates must bring a check or money order for NA0 payable to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on the first day work to pay for a badge.***


Additional Work Details:

The initial contract is full time 40 hours per week; Work hours are 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Monday Friday excluding state holidays and other office closings; Lunch is 12:00 PM 1:00 PM

The selected candidate is expected to comply with existing agency procedures and policies




The Test Automation Specialist position will encompass the followingactivities:

Analyze performance requirements from businessareas and develop automated tests to meet those requirements.

o Candidateshould be able to explain good design principles and ask for required input anddata from the project team to measure performance.

o Supportdevelopers as they build automated test scripts and plans that the candidatewill execute.

o Gatherrequirements and formalize into a testing plan.

Program configure automate and executetesting primarily performance testing.

o Recordcreate edit and execute tests for both quality and performance on systemswithin PennDOT.

o Reportand present verbally and in writing test results for development teams toassist in isolating defects and vulnerabilities.

o Performanalysis triage and remediation as needed to ensure proper execution of testsand to resolve connectivity or other runtime issues.

o Automatedtesting of other types including functional and regression testing may beincluded but are less than 10% of testing requests.

Research and Maintenance:

o Performresearch on testing tools in the marketplace for features and pricing thatoffers value to PennDOT.

o Responsiblefor reviewing vendor documentation and presenting customized documentation forthe proper implementation of tools within PennDOT.

o Maintainand update versions of existing tools. Rollout new versions to user communityas needed.

Respond to customer inquiries via phone emailchat and other communication channels in a timely and professional manner.

Troubleshoot technical issues and providestepbystep instructions or guidance to resolve customer concerns.

Document and track customer interactions andissue resolutions using our CRM system (Remedy).

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams toescalate and resolve customer issues efficiently.

Identify common customer challenges andcontribute to the development of selfservice resources knowledge basearticles and other support materials.

Proactively follow up with customers to ensuretheir issues are fully resolved and their needs are met.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve thecustomer support experience and provide feedback to the team leads andmanagement.

Skill Required/Desired Amount of Experience

Required 4 Years Industrial grade testingtools from a recognized vendororganization such as IBM Rational PerformanceTester Selenium or Apache JMeter to build and run quality and/or performancetests.

Required 2 Years Basic programming knowledgein a common language. Must be able to customize test scripts with variable dataand adjust test execution to properly reflect test requirements.

Required 2 Years Knowledge of a commonintegrated development environment (IDE) such as Eclipse or MS Visual Studio.

Required Experience with Microsoft Windows.

Required Microsoft Office 3NA.

Required ability to communicate and workindependently.

Required excellent customer service skills.

Required knowledge of digital accessibilityconcepts and techniques
