Hourly Rate: S26.14/hour.

Job Summary:
As a Telecom Mechanic II you will be responsible for the installation maintenance and repair of telecommunication systems and equipment. Your role will involve working with various telecommunications technologies such as telephone systems data networks fiber optic cables and wireless systems. You will perform both scheduled maintenance and respond to service calls to ensure that telecommunication systems are functioning effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Install maintain and repair telecommunication systems including telephone systems data networks fiber optic cables and wireless equipment while also installing and configuring telecommunication hardware such as switches routers modems and other network devices.
- Conduct inspections and tests to identify and resolve telecommunication system issues such as signal loss connectivity problems or equipment malfunctions.
- Diagnose faults in telecommunication systems and equipment using specialized tools and equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning adjusting and replacing components to ensure optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with technicians engineers vendors and suppliers for planning implementing telecommunication system upgrades expansions and procuring equipment for installations and repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance repairs and installations performed including documenting equipment specifications service logs and test results.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on telecommunication systems ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
- Keep uptodate with advancements in telecommunication technology and industry standards to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network connectivity and telecommunication system issues ensuring timely resolution and guiding endusers on equipment and service usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in telecommunications is preferred.
- Proven experience working as a Telecom Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Indepth knowledge of telecommunication systems equipment and technologies such as telephone systems data networks fiber optics and wireless systems.
- Familiarity with telecommunication hardware including switches routers modems and network devices.
- Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment for diagnosing and repairing telecommunication systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills to identify and resolve telecommunication system issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members clients and endusers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve climbing lifting and working in confined spaces.
