Job Description

Position: Journeyman Millwright
Location: Thunder Bay ON
Openings: Multiple Positions Available


Job Description:
As a Journeyman Millwright you will be responsible for the installation maintenance repair and troubleshooting of industrial grain machinery and mechanical systems. You will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency by conducting preventive maintenance and ensuring the reliability of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install maintain troubleshoot and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment specifically grainhandling systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment according to schedules and standards.
  • Fabricate repair and install mechanical components following established safety and operational procedures.
  • Assist other Maintenance and Electrical teams as needed to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Perform equipment alignments and calibrations according to industry standards.
  • Safely operate welding and cutting equipment including TIG MIG ARC Plasma and Torch tools.
  • Adhere to health safety and fire prevention regulations at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman certification with Red Seal or Trade Qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of industrial experience preferably in grain handling or a similar field.
  • Strong problemsolving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Experience with material handling systems and conveyor equipment is an asset.
  • Proficient in welding rigging (load balancing hand signals) and operating mobile equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings and diagrams to guide installation and repairs.
  • Knowledge of industrial elevator and cleaning systems is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Work Conditions:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday rotating shifts (Day: 8 AM to 4 PM Evening: 4 PM to 12 AM).
