Roles and responsibilities
- Operationalize the strategic directions from the Steerco & Chief Data Officer (CDO) through the Data Governance Council and Compliance Officer while ensuring the synergy of the Council with the Steerco and Stewardship Community.
- Communicate risks, issues, decisions, and action items from the Council to the Steering Committee & facilitate resolution.
- Resolve issues/risks and take decisions at the Council level to ensure rapid resolution at a strategic & tactical level
- Manages GIB's initiatives & implementation roadmap for Data Governance programs, including addressing GIB's requirements, monitoring progress of these programs, reporting on their KPIs, and periodically conducting compliance assessment.
- Orchestrate policies processes, standards & rules required to comply with regulatory requirements by taking support from the Compliance Officer.
- Team-up with Data Quality Officer to translate the executive directions from the Steerco & CDO to strategic and tactical aspects of Data Quality Management through DQ Strategy, Plan, Policy, processes, standards & rules across GIB.
- Work with Data Quality officer to Facilitate appointment of Data Owners for all data domains & facilitate continuous monitoring of Data Quality.
- Ensure implementation of Data Privacy, Personal Data Protection & Data Security as mandated by NCA & NDMO by coordinating with the Cybersecurity team including maintaining of log for all Data Governance risks & issues.
- Team-up with GIB Compliance officer, Stewardship Leads & other Officers to manage the development and implementation of different Data Management and Governance programs & initiatives including Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Classification, Data Privacy, Personal Data Protection & Data Sharing.
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)).
- Experience with data governance tools and technologies.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data analytics concepts.
