Job Description
Title: Principal/Lead AWS Cloud Modernization Engineer
Visa: USC GC H4EAD
Location: Remote Minnesota OR Chicago Illinois US (Need Local Only)
Travel Required 1/2 times in a month

Project Description:
- Cloud Migration and Modernization Program focuses on establishing a shared services capability that provides the necessary architectural governance for workloads being migrated to the cloud. This initiative aims to ensure that the migration processes adhere to best practices and efficient cloud architectures across various platforms.
- The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance architectural governance during the migration of workloads to cloud environments. The initiative seeks to maintain a high standard of cloud architecture ensuring effectiveness and compliance as organizations transition their operations to the cloud.
- Program is seeking an experienced lead level cloud developer and solution architect with the ability to evaluate estimate design implement and document cloud centric application architectures and deployment methodologies and generally contribute to cloud enablement and cost optimization efforts while promoting cloud architecture and DevOps bestpractices.
- Responsibilities:
- The candidate must be able to materially contribute to the design and implementation of varied application solutions infrastructureascode (IaC) operational capabilities and DevSecOps requirements.
- The candidate must understand development and deployment workflows and be capable of providing actionable guidance and executing on application refactoring efforts.
- This candidate will be expected to lead delivery efforts mentor team members and work in collaboration with other teams to meet technical requirements and committed timelines.
Mandatory Skills Description:
- AWS 5 years solutioning and deploying applications in AWS
- Lead Experience 3 years in a role demonstrating ability to own and drive deliverables with minimal technical guidance
- AWS Lambda / Step Functions (serverless architectures)
- AWS ECS / Fargate (proficiency with containerized deployments e.g. Docker)
- AWS RDS (relational and NoSQL database design/management data management)
- Networking (strong understanding of general and AWS virtual networking)
- Cloud security and recovery
- Web services and application programming interfaces (APIs)
- AWS data streaming/messaging services (e.g. Kinesis Data Firehose SQS SNS)
- Terraform and CloudFormation
- CI/CD automation using GitHub/GitLab
- Implementation of autoscaling costmanagement techniques and operational monitoring
- Experience architecting for both Linux and Windows environments
Must have significant experience with at least one (preferably two) of the following:
- Golang
- Python
- .NET / C#
- Java
NicetoHave Skills Description:
AWS Certification(s) (verifiable)
Experience with alternative cloud providers (Azure GCP)
