Android Developer

Roles and responsibilities

• We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of
  
  applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices. Your primary focus will be the
  
  development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will be
  
  working along-side other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure.
  
  Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality
  
  products is essential.
  
  Responsibilities
  
• Create technical work breakdown structures and task dependencies.
• Create a friendly, vibrant and cohesive development environment that fosters creativity while
  
• maintaining the discipline necessary to deliver quality features on time and on budget
  
• Build a team that demonstrates values and culture
• Motivate the team members encouraging innovation and growth
• Guide the technical activities of the team to ensure that deadlines are met, and the product
  
• roadmap is adhered to.
  
• Act as the technical liaison for product development activities.
• Ensure that software is developed with high quality and that issues raised during the software
  
• development lifecycle are addressed in a timely manner.
  
• Conduct performance reviews for all members of the development team
• Create and enforce development processes and standards that enhance the team's efficiency and
  
• the quality of the software deliverables
  

Desired candidate profile

• Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• A knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration

• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
