About the Role:

Were seeking an experienced Substation Relay Technician to join the hive on behalf of one of our clients. In this role youll be responsible for relay testing substation commissioning and troubleing electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substation operations and protection equipment testing. Your Mission:

• Install test maintain repair and operate substation equipment such as circuit breakers transformers and relays.
• Conduct full lifecycle commissioning and testing of substations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on protection equipment utilizing tools such as multimeters relay test sets and other similar equipment.
• Conduct troubleing and problem ysis for electrical systems and protection equipment.
• Complete neat and accurate records reports and timereporting doents.
• Calibrate and test various relays including overcurrent under/overvoltage and directional overcurrent relays.
• ist commissioning engineering in testing electrical apparatus and installations.

Core Competencies:

• 3 years of relay testing and substation commissioning experience (15kV to 500kV).
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment and protection systems.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication ss with the ability to lead meetings with utility clients.
• Ability to travel to client utility sites across the US with overnight stays.

What You Bring:

• ociates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent education/experience.
• Significant electrical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to work on delicate and complex equipment.
• Experience with relay testing tools such as Doble protection ProTest AcSELerator or Renoserv.
• Strong troubleing and diagnostic ss.
• Ability to yze electrical control and protection problems and produce accurate work.
• Familiarity with substation circuits equipment and protective relay schemes.

Ss Required:

• Relay Testing & Substation Commissioning: Full lifecycle commissioning and testing experience of substations.
• Troubleing & Problem Solving: Expertise in diagnosing and correcting electrical issues.
• Equipment Proficiency: Experience with tools such as relay test sets multimeters circuit breaker yzers and capacitor testers.
• Reporting & Doentation: Ability to complete detailed records and reports related to substation operations.

Certifications:

• Relevant certifications in electrical testing or relay protection preferred.

Education:

• ociates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
