Job Description
We are hiring a Direct Service Associate III for one of our clients in Maricopa County AZ.
Job Description:
Position Overview:
- Hourly 100% grant. A doula is a specially trained birth companion who provides labor support; however they perform no clinical tasks.
Skills Required:
- Doulas will provide pre delivery and post birth support for families and provides women with all the options and choices regarding her birthing experience.
- Doulas will assist families in developing a plan prior to the birth and/or after birth.
- Doulas will assist with breastfeeding support.
- Doulas will advise and can screen for postpartum mood disorders.
- Doula helps to empower women to share their birth plans with her prenatal/birthing health care provider(s) of what she and her partner hope for their childbirth experience.
- Doulas will complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Doulas will mentor and support student doulas during 3 family interventions.
- 1 hour a week 1 on 1 meetings with students
- Doulas will work as back up for students and/or other staff in the program when needed.
Skills Preferred:
- Minimum Education and/or Experience: Applicant shall have successfully completed all practicum births and currently holds a current credential from DONA or Doulas International or similar accredited institution (state national or international.
Experience Required:
- Applicants must have two years (2) of current doula experience.
- Additionally 10 hours of birth trainings
Experience Preferred:
- Applicants must have 3 to 5 years of current doula experience.
- Additionally 15 hours of birth trainings
Education required:
- DONA certification
