Job Description
StraightLine Civils are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in heavy civils to start on a HS2 site in Carlisle.
Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)
- Preparation of project financial reports
- Preparing bill of quantities budgeting and cost control for projects
- Working closely with our engineer & accounts for measuring works on site & submission of monthly valuations
- Managing and negotiating with clients suppliers and subcontractors
- Handle contracts meticulously to ensure the company is safeguarded in respect of contractual notifications progress cost quality etc
- Working closely with managers to ensure financial goals are met
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civils industry
- Experience with New Engineering Contracts (NEC)
- Experience working with bridges and reinforced concrete
- Relevant professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying
- Strong knowledge of heavy civils processes and industry best practices
- Excellent negotiation and communication ss
- Excellent numeracy & IT ss including competence in relevant software applications (Bluebeam/CAD/excel etc.)
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Valid driving licence
The job is a permanent sitebased position starting in Carlisle.
The salary is 5055k per annum and will include a company car. This salary is negotiable/dependent on experience.
