You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOn behalf of a hospital in Southern Norway, we are seeking an endocrinologist for a permanent position.
The department currently consists of three permanent senior consultant positions, two of which are filled by specialists in internal medicine and endocrinology. The hospital serves a population base of approximately 200,000 people, providing a diverse and stimulating patient base.
About the role
This position is predominantly outpatient-based, focusing on all aspects of endocrinology, including pituitary disorders, thyroid and parathyroid issues, adrenal and gonadal dysfunctions, osteoporosis, and diabetes (mainly type 1). The endocrinology team collaborates closely with a sed diabetes nurse team and operates a nurse-led diabetes clinic. In recent years, the department has managed over 2,000 annual consultations in the endocrinology outpatient clinic.
The role also includes providing consultant services for patients admitted to other departments at the hospital and for general practitioners requiring specialist advice. When necessary, inpatient beds are available in the internal medicine department for endocrinological patients.
