Financial Accountant
This role is in Blackheath Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.
Start date: November 2024
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a closeknit finance team & the Accountant will report directly to the CFO.
What you will bring:
- Finance / Accounting Degree
- 3 4 years experience in financial accounting Leadership experience gained here would be ideal!
- Strong Technical Accounting knowledge exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure
- Advanced ss in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with various accounting packages
- Strong conflict resolution & problem solving ss
The role will involve:
- Oversee a team of 10 while providing coaching and performance evaluations.
- Handle the full financial function for multiple statutory entities including preparation of consolidated Management Accounts and Statements of Financial Position.
- Cashflow reporting and forecasting
- Managing accuracy of fixed et register on a rolling basis
- Ensure accuracy in financial reporting cashflow forecasting and tax calculations. Prepare reports for the executive committee and manage yearend audits.
- yze financial results against budgets investigate variances and coordinate the annual budget process. Liaise with banks and SARS on financial matters
- Investigation and corroboration of variances
- Reconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returns
- Liaising with SARS / tax practitioner on all tax related issues
- Responsible for Creditors reconciliations and payments
- Review and approval of all payments
- Reviewing of Cash cycle & Bank recons
