Data Scientist – Oil & Gas Industry
DETAILS
Location: Downtown Houston TX (Hybrid: remote Mondays and Fridays)
Position Type: DirectHire
Salary: $90100K based on experience
Residency Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No sponsorship available)
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science Computer Science or related field.
ABOUT THE POSITION
GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Data Scientist for a DirectHire FTE role in Houston TX. The Data Scientist will create datadriven solutions for operational challenges within the oil and gas industry. You will apply advanced techniques such as machine learning exploratory data ysis and AI to improve production optimization process automation and drilling efficiency. Collaborating across teams you will play a key role in enhancing decisionmaking and operational processes within the upstream and midstream sectors.

- Lead and contribute to projects addressing production optimization drilling efficiency and automation.
- Implement machine learning models and AI for operational improvements.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate datadriven tools and dashboards.
- Utilize Python and data mining to yze large datasets and provide actionable insights.
- Present findings and solutions clearly to stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects in a dynamic fastpaced environment.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
13 years’ experience in the following s sets..
- Data ytics and managing large datasets
- Proficiency in Python and data ysis tools
- Programming languages: SQL R or C
- Strong collaboration and presentation ss
- Excellent communication ss
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in data science within oil and gas ideally with upstream/midstream operations and petroleum engineering workflows
- Advanced degree or certifications in Data Science or ytics
